About Miss Joanna

Joanna DeRosa is a New York based performer from Dutchess County who comes from a talented musical family and has been performing since the age of three. She earned her bachelors in communications at Pace University. Joanna is no stranger to hard work. Performing since the age of three at venues such as the Westchester Broadway Theater, Symphony Space, the Duke, the United Nations and the world famous Apollo theater amongst others, DeRosa has been involved in both equity and non equity musical theater shows, professional dance companies such as the American Tap Dance Foundation and has competed in talent competitions earning both regional and national titles in all styles of dance including tap, jazz, contemporary and hip hop.

 Joanna appeared on Nickelodeon's MeTV, in the Moscow Ballet's Nutcracker, appeared on BroadwayWorld.com, danced at the Superbowl XLVIII halftime show, was featured in the New Jersey/ New York based entertainment magazine "Stepping Out" as their cover girl and was also featured as one of the New York Post's "hottest calendar girls" of 2014. Joanna spent three years as a member of the Gotham City Cheerleaders, a professional dance team and NFL style cheer team dedicated to cheering on behalf of the New York Giants.

 Joanna is part of the Orange County pop band Six Stories Told as their lead singer and they have been working hard opening for artists such as Jake Miller, Aaron Carter, Hot Chelle Rae, Metro Station and Big Time Rush, just to name a few. The band now has two songs playing on the radio on Fox 103.1. They recently aired on Fox 5's Teen Kids News and released their EP with four time Grammy award winning producer Earl Cohen. "Epilogue" is available on iTunes and their song "Round and Round" can be found in The American Girl Movie "Grace Stirs Up Success." The band has a lot in store for the future and had a great time touring the US and UK.

 

She's a dance teacher, performer, illusionist assistant and more but she loves her students above all else. Recently, Joanna has dedicated her time to teaching children of all ages the craft she has worked so hard to perfect. Her students hold national and regional titles, have been in national tours, attend the Joffrey School in New York City, but most importantly, develop a confidence and presence unlike any other.
